Product Description

This delicious shallot variety is a cross between and onion and a shallot, with the larger size of an onion and the sweet, mild flavor of a shallot. The oblong, pinkish-brown bulbs are excellent for gourmet cooking. Slice thinly and saute with asparagus or green beans, or add to salads for a bright crunch. Once harvested, we found that Zebrune shallots stored longer in a dark, dry place than most onions. Plus they're nutritious! Onions and shallots have been associated with reducing blood pressure, having anti-inflammatory properties and containing chromium, a hard-to-find mineral that helps balance blood sugar. 100 days to maturity.
