Thermal Plant Protector

Is there anything more frustrating than planting those early seeds, only to experience a late cold snap once the plants have emerged? That's why, after 15 years of extensive testing at our Gardens Alive! research farm, we've developed the Thermal Plant Protector! Its lightweight, translucent plastic corrugated frame holds air pockets that warm the soil, insulating plants from cold, frost and sunburn. It even increases growing time by up to two weeks earlier in spring, with no hardening off required. If you don't have new plants growing, it's perfect for protecting transplants when you set them outside in the springtime. Its hinged lid can be closed to protect plants from hard freeze and opened to prevent overheating on warm days. This pack of 5 is easy to use; just mound dirt over base to hold in place, or use our optional U-shaped pins (sold separately).

The Thermal Plant Protector can be used for early spring planting of cole crops, tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables. The plant protector can also protect early plantings of ornamentals.

Orders for in-stock seeds and hardgoods are typically shipped within 5 business days.

Trees and shrubs are kept in the nursery row until fully dormant for optimum stress protection.

In all cases, we choose the fastest, most efficient way to send your order--via the U.S. Postal Service or United Parcel Service. Large orders may be shipped in more than one package.
