Mexican Sunflower

Lure pollinators and hummingbirds to the garden with this sensational sunflower look-alike. Native to Mexico and Central America, the Mexican Sunflower, or Tithonia rotundifolia, is an annual flower that thrives in the summer heat and in medium to dry soils. Its 4-inch, orange flowers attract pollinators. They're pretty in cut-flower arrangements too. Growing up to 6 feet tall, this low-maintenance plant can be grown in groups as a privacy screen. The plants are drought tolerant, once established, and deer tend to avoid.
