Yellow straightneck will be a favorite. Spineless, upright growth habit means harvesting is easy. Smooth vines mean your arms and hands won't get scratched. Tender, pale yellow squash has creamy white esh and is great grilled or sautéed or added to baked goods and casseroles.

- Fruit: Yellow straightneck squash, slightly broader at the base than at the neck. Pale to medium yellow skin with creamy white flesh. Thin skin, tender texture. Best picked at 4-8 inches long.
- Soil Preference: Light, well-fertilized soil.
- Pruning: Leaves/stems at base of plant can be removed as they deteriorate. No pruning is necessary.
