- Self-supporting plants
AK
Prolific, edible leaflets and tasty peas make Petite a multi-purpose pea that's short, self-supporting and decorative. Enjoy as a shelling pea and steam, saute, or add to your favorite salads and soups. Don't throw out the shoots when thinning the plant, since the pods and leaflets add crisp texture to salads, pastas, soups and stir-fries! The leaflets taste just like fresh peas, and this variety grows plenty! These peas grow best in fertile, neutral soil that retains moisture. Be sure to plant in full sunlight. Remember: peas are never as sweet as right after harvest. To maximize their sweetness, eat or freeze your peas as quickly as possible. 24-60 days to maturity.
