Pumpkin Connecticut Field

Known as the largest carving pumpkin, this pumpkin seed is an heirloom variety grown hundreds of years ago by Native Americans and New England settlers. Producing hefty orange-gold fruits that weigh between 15-20 pounds, their round, smooth surface is slightly ribbed and is the ideal size for carving a big jack-o'-lantern. Their flat bottoms make them less likely to tip over in the field or as a fall decoration. These pumpkins are edible, but their flesh is not sweet like pie pumpkins—try roasting the seeds inside the fruit instead!
