Late. Rich, golden russet-type potatoes are an all-around favorite for baking, frying and steaming. Truly an all-purpose potato, with delicious, buttery flavor and a tender, flaky texture. Just one look and taste and Butterball will be an instant winner in your kitchen and your garden. Excellent for winter storage.

  • Spread: 18 - 24 inches.
  • Foliage: Large, abundant green foliage.
  • Depth: 3 to 5 inches.
  • Blooms: Early Summer, Mid Summer, Late Summer, All Summer
  • Days to Maturity: 100 - 130 Days
  • Yield: Since a single plant will likely produce up to 2 - 4 pounds, the yield from a 10 foot row could be anywhere from 25 - 35 pounds.
  • Fruit: Russet-type with rich, golden, slightly flaky flesh. Medium, oblong to round potatoes. Smooth golden skin & flesh.
  • Soil Preference: Loamy Soil, Sandy Soil
  • Growth Rate: Moderate growth rate.
  • Form: Vegetable, Potatoes
  • Flowers: Star shaped purple blooms.
  • Seed Count: 2 lbs. of seed potatoes. If a seed potato is over 1 inch in diameter, you can cut them into pieces, leaving 1 - 2 eyes per piece. 2 lbs. of seed potatoes will make about 10 - 15 potato sets when cut.
