Product Description

As the winner in our research trials out of 14 Southern pea varieties, this pea is truly phenomenal! A creamy texture with a slightly nutty flavor, Phenomenal™ has over three times the total phenolic content of Pink Eye Purplehull peas. Phenolic content is the healthy portion of food containing amino acids, folates and antioxidants. Bright ruby stems complement the lovely yellow pods with faint blushes of red, all topped with beautiful blossoms. Each pea has a unique black and white "Holstein" pattern. The main crop of these peas is concentrated into one or two pickings, but Phenomenal™ will continue to produce at lower levels if kept picked. This 2' high bush averages 12 peas per pod. Harvest green and eat fresh, or allow to dry on the plant and then harvest the peas inside. The leaves are also edible! 65 days to maturity.
