Nanking Bush Cherry

A popular choice for the edible landscape, Nanking Bush Cherry produces high yields of fruits, has fragrant spring blossoms and is ornamental. Growing 6-8 feet tall with a similar spread, it bears tangy fruits that are often used in pies, jams and jellies as well as eaten fresh. Mature plants produce up to eight quarts of fruits each. This cold-hardy, vigorous bush is a good choice for planting in borders and in mass plantings. For the best fruit yields, plant two or more bushes. Performs best in full sun. Fruits ripen in July. Zones 2-8.
