Product Description

Thin, smooth skin in shades of ivory and tan with creamy white flesh makes the Kennebec Potato a pantry staple. These all-purpose potatoes are perfect for creaming when harvested early, or enjoy at maturity by frying, boiling, mashing, or baking them. Kennebec tastes particularly delicious when fried since the flesh browns evenly and tastes incredibly earthy, nutty, and rich. Use it with a vegetable cutter to get perfect, uniform French fries. Make sure to thoroughly clean each potato before cooking. Kennebec potatoes grow well under harsh conditions and are great for storing long-term in a dry, dark place. Expect 80-100 days to maturity and then enjoy!

Growing Kennebec Potatoes

  • Plant Kennebec Seed Potatoes in the spring. Plant in an area with full sun.
  • Plant potatoes 3-5 inches deep in loamy or sandy soil. Space them 12-15 inches apart, with 30-36 inches between rows.
  • Provide 1-2 inches of water per week, more during hot, dry spells.
  • Harvest potatoes after 80-100 days, after the foliage begins to die down. Brush off soil and allow skins to dry, then store in a cool, dark place.
