Product Description

Homestead is huge! Each purple-red tomato weighs up to 3 lbs each, and is shaped like a slightly flattened globe with deep pleating at the top. That top section is often still slightly green even at full maturity, with streaks in green and tan down the inside of the pleating. It's a well-known European variety that continues to set huge, great-tasting fruit throughout the summer. Its huge size means that one slice is often enough for sandwiches and burgers, and more than enough for a caprese salad! Chop up for delicious summer tomato salads with balsamic vinegar and basil. Like all tomatoes, Homestead is high in vitamins A and C, which fight off heart disease and cancer. Lycopene, the bright red pigment found in tomatoes, helps maintain proper cholesterol levels. Open pollinated. Indeterminate. 80 days to maturity.
