If you love bell peppers, then the Colossal Hybrid Sweet Pepper will be a favorite. One of the largest bell peppers on the market, it yields 6-in. fruits that ripen from green to red. Their sugary sweet flavor is good at the green stage, and super sweet at the red stage. Plants are vigorous and are very adaptable to the cooler growing conditions of the Midwest and Northwest regions. Enjoy these sweet bells fresh, cooked or grilled. 70 days to maturity.

  • Height: 22 - 24 inches.
  • Spacing: 12 - 16 inches apart.
  • Zone: 3 - 9 annual
  • Spread: 12 - 24 inches.
  • Foliage: Dark green foliage.
  • Depth: Plant seeds 1/2 inch deep. Start seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the last frost date. The plants should be planted the same depth as in the pots.
  • Yield: High yield potential.
  • Fruit: Extra-large 6 inches in diameter x 6 inches long. Shape: bell, deep blocky fruit. Color: medium dark green to glossy brilliant red. Flavor: very sweet at red stage, good flavor at green stage as well.
  • Soil Preference: Rich, well-drained soil.
  • Growth Rate: Moderate growth rate.
  • Pruning: None needed.
  • Form: Upright. Tall, vigorous, somewhat erect with good foliage cover.
