Cilantro

CILANTRO

Is used in preparing many different salsas. It contains many phytonutrients, including flavonoids such as quercetin, kaempferol, rhamnetin and apigenin; as well as the phenolic acid compounds, caffeic and chlorogenic acid. An excellent antioxidant, cilantro also has antimicrobial properties since it contains a compound called dodecenal. Cilantro is also known as coriander when the seeds are used as a spice.
