TART CHERRIES

Are tarter than sweet cherries because they have a higher antioxidant content than sweet cherries. Tart cherries are an excellent source of carotenoids, vitamin C, anthocyanins, and dietary fiber, all important antioxidant components. Medical scientists are currently studying the anti-inflammatory properties of tart cherries. They are delicious eaten fresh, and they are so popular for making pies that they are often referred to as "pie cherries".
