Calypso Shell Bean

A bean that's as pretty as it is flavorful! Calypso Shell Bean produces half black and half white beans that retain their markings even after cooking. The mild-flavored beans with a smooth, meaty texture are a standout when added to soups and when baked. Cooking doubles their size! A high-yielding heirloom variety, Calypso produces 4-5 beans per pod. While most often dried, the pods can be harvested when young and eaten as green beans. The bush-type plants perform well in many climates and require no staking. 70-90 days to maturity.
