Bulbs Alive!^® Bulb Fertilizer

For spring-flowering bulbs like tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and crocuses, fall is by far the most important time to fertilize since most root growth occurs during fall and winter. It is vital to fertilize bulbs in order to optimize bulb regeneration and encourage showy spring bloom. For summer-flowering bulbs like irises, lilies, glads, cannas, dahlias, and tuberous begonias, Use at planting so Bulbs Alive!® can quickly provide benefit. Apply 5 to 7 lbs per 100 sq ft at time of planting. When planting bulbs individually, use .5 cups per bulb and mix thoroughly with soil around planting hole before placing bulb in. For summer-flowering bulbs, apply again when flower buds form. Do not fertilize any bulbs after flowers open because late fertilization encourages bulb rot.
