ACORN -- Purdue University's Guide To Pesticide Alternatives

ACORN is a growing network of Master Gardeners, Extension Agents and Purdue University researchers interested in reducing pesticide usage in home gardens. ACORN is offering an Alternative Control Guide for vegetables. Gardeners use this guide to:

  • Identify pests and their Natural Enemies (NE) on their vegetable crops.
  • Find alternative control tactics for vegetable crops.
  • Find management tactics for vegetable crops.
  • Find flowers that feed and protect Natural Enemies (NE) in your vegetable garden.
  • The goal in highlighting alternatives is to provide you, the home gardener, pest control methods that you can test in your own home garden, an avenue to network with gardeners, extension and research personnel.
