Best Seed - Hands Down
Got tired of wasting money with Scott's seed and wanted to try something new on an area of lawn in my yard that sees a lot of abuse. This lawn seed is amazing and lives up to the product label. Highly recommend this product.
Not Sure About This
I don't see how a slower growing grass blade is advantageous. The whole theory behind growing a healthy lawn is to have a vigorously growing lawn that can out compete weeds. So unless someone is extremely lazy or has a huge lawn, why would you want to mow less frequently?
GREAT but not for the shade
Wonderful grass. Thick, slow growing and VERY little weed intervention. Only thing it does not like shade...LOVES full sun.
Overseeded my lawn with a combination of topsoil/mushroom compost added to my existing lawn that looked very straggley and bare. Transformed my lawn into an oasis of lush green grass. Super impressed with results! Even my landscaper who seeded this for me wanted to know where i got these seeds from.
Not sure it likes hot weather.
Seeded our shady lawn with this in the spring. It came up quickly and looked very promising. It only lasted about a month though and just died away. All of it. It's hot in Texas and I don't know if it didn't like the heat or if it was the shade.
Love this seed
I purchased Turf's Alive III Grass seed over 20 years ago and it is by far the best seed I have planted. It very seldom has dandelions or other weeds. I think I have only fertilized it once. It is awesome. I have been adding it to my other lawn areas. Winters very well.
Love this grass
Bought and seeded grasss in late summer. Seed germinated quickly to a lush green color. Survived winter and came back even more vigorous. Buying more to close off bare spots. Not 100% sure about rhizomes waiting out the season to see if grass self repairs. Otherwise highly recommend
Turfs Alive III with Rhizomes
I used this product to over seed my lawn and it has done a beautiful job of proliferating and made it through a Nebraska winter!
Not for Cold Climates
This grass thrived is the spring and summer and was beautiful. However, it turned brown and started dying in the fall. Now, midway through winter, it is clear that I have to reseed my lawn in the spring. I loved the grass when the weather was warm but it is not suited for cold zones. Tough to give a fair rating because I am not sure if I bought the wrong grass for my zone. It would be very helpful for Gardens Alive! to state the ideal zones for the different grass seeds.
