Product Details

Clover is a valuable, fast-growing aid when getting a new lawn started or overseeding an existing lawn. White Dutch Clover grows vigorously even in poor clay subsoil that may surround the construction of a new home. It's roots feature nodules that pull nitrogen from the air, providing 1/3 of the nitrogen that your lawn needs! Clover will sprout in 7-10 days.

  • Depth: For over-seeding and existing lawn, sow four to six ounces per 1,000 square feet (four oz. per 1,000 square feet should be plenty if sown at the same time as grass seed).
  • Comments: Many professional groundskeepers and homeowners include White Dutch clover in their lawn seed mixtures. Nodules on its roots "fix" nitrogen from the air - up to 1/3 the nitrogen your lawn needs! You'll spend less on expensive fertilizers. Grows vigorously even in poor clay subsoil around new home construction. SOIL PREPARATION: For over-seeding, a decent stand can usually be achieved by simply spreading the seed into existing grass. A thin layer of topsoil will improve germination. Avoid a topping of peat moss, dried cow manure or other products which may temporarily tie up nitrogen and cause poor germination. For an area to be newly seeded, till soil so that seed can be raked into the top 1/4shouldbedeleted of finely worked soil.
