Long-lasting control of soilborne fungal diseases
Root GuardianTM Biofungicide for
Soilborne Diseases is a preventative
biological fungicide for control of plant diseases. The
active ingredient is a microbe, Trichoderma harzianum
strain, which, when applied to seeds, transplants or
other propagative material, or to soil or planting
mixes, grows onto plant roots as they develop and provides
protection against plant root pathogens, such as
Pythium, Rhizoctonia and Thielaviopsis.
Crops on which Root GuardianTM Biofungicide may be
used include berries and small fruits, flowers, bedding
plants and ornamentals, fruiting vegetables, herbs,
spices and mints, leafy vegetables and cole crops and
pome fruits.
Where early-season seed rot and seedling diseases are
expected, use chemically treated seed or other appropriate
measures for stand establishment and Root
GuardianTM Biofungicide for Soilborne Diseases for root
disease control.
Home and garden
For preventative control of root diseases of vegetable,
flower and ornamental plants. For drench application
to seeds, mix 1 to 3 tbsp. of Root GuardianTM Biofungicide
per gallon of water and apply with a watering can or
other device to 25 ft. of planting furrow before covering
the seeds with soil.
For transplants, mix 1 to 3 tbsp. of Root GuardianTM
Biofungicide per gallon of water and apply 1/2 to
1 cup (4-8 fl. oz.) per plant at transplanting. For
new plant beds, mix 1 to 3 tbsp. of Root GuardianTM
Biofungicide and apply at a rate of 1 gal. per 25 sq. ft.
For established beds or potted plants, mix 1 to 3 tbsp.
of Root GuardianTM Biofungicide and apply at a rate of 1
gal. per 25 sq. ft. of plant bed or 1/2 to 1 cup (4-8 fl. oz.)
per 4 to 8" pot.
Root GuardianTM Biofungicide is designed for application
to seeds, plant roots and soil for control of plant
root diseases.
