Overview

Looking to improve your soil? Bring in the experts—redworms! They have voracious appetites, digesting their weight in organic matter every 24 hours and producing an equal quantity of castings everyday. Their fast, thorough decomposition action turns kitchen scraps into a rich soil amendment! Use redworms in outdoor compost piles or indoor composting boxes, like our Worm Composting System.

Details

For fast, thorough decomposition and a rich, finished product, add hungry redworms to your compost pile! Redworms digest raw organic material and produce their weight in castings every day. They even work in an indoor composting box, such as our Worm Composting System turning kitchen scraps into a rich soil amendment.

Note: Although redworms will work hard in your compost pile, they won't live in garden soil.

Silent Workforce
Reviewed By: Richard R. Sylvestre (Lyman, Maine)
I purchased these remarkable creatures from Gurney's eight years ago or more. It is a wonderful feeling to know that I have a constant workforce working their way into my gardens, lawn areas, and compost piles. It is also enjoyable to see occasional babies knowing that their ancestors have passed their gifts forward. They are vulnerable little creatures in transit however and I recommend ordering them during off peak heat seasons. Gurny's has always been very good about replacing shipments that came in very week or dead. I plan to order more in the Spring of 09 to give my current population a healthy boost! Way to go Gurny's!
