Unlike traditional blackberries that bear fruit only on 2-yr.-old canes, Prime Jan produces berries on new growth—a breakthrough for Northern growers who have trouble over-wintering blackberries. Fruit will form on 2-yr. canes as well, allowing for 2 crops in warmer areas. Erect canes grow 4-6 ft.; sweet berries ripen in June and July. Zones 4-8. Bareroot. PP15788.
