Great Berry
Reviewed By: Troy Sloyer (Brandenburg, KY)
Bought 2 of these 3 years ago and they didn't look so good when I got them. Well, the first year they took right off filling out and year two the exploded with large juicy berries and just melt like cotton candy on your tongue. Make sure you put up the bird netting because once they find your Boysenberrys they will eat them like their addicted. Highly recommend this plant to anyone. Oh, and be very carful you don't weed out the new shoots in the spring. The new shoots are not viney like the older part of the plant and I started to pull them out. Very healthy plant. Mine are in 50/50 sun/shade and on a hillside with great drain-off. Worth every penny I spent on them!

The write-up is absolutely correct - these are wonderfully flavored berries. Makes great jelly and syrup.

Great Plants

I bought 3 plants last year to replace 6 bare root plants from another vendor. None of those plants lived. I ordered 3 potted thornless boysenberry plants from Gurney. The were more expensive then the other plants I bought but I like Gurney's No-Risk Guarantee. The plants arrived for fall planting. They were in 3 in pots and had good roots. The plants have done well and are grown great this spring. I will have lots of berries next year with all the grouth thy are putting on this year. I could not be more pleased.
