I have used a 48" heat mat for 10+ years with no troubles. However I have three single sized mats ( 12") that only lasted 2 years.

Stopped working second season

This worked great the first year. This year it stopped working completely. If the price was lower or quality was higher, this would be a great product for every gardner. But this falls short. BTW... There must be only 1 manufacturer, because they all look alike, so buying elsewhere won't help :(

Like the other complaints, my mat worked great the first year and did not operate the second. I did not replace this product either. Very expensive for one year use!

Waste of Money

The cost of these mats keeps climbing and the value lessens. Out of 5 mats used for 2 seasons, 3 have stopped working. This is nearly a $100 replacement cost. If the industry wants the non-commercial customer to continue using these mats, a cost adjustment is necessary. I won't replace them, I'll find another solution to heating the bottoms of my seed trays, thank you very much.
