persimmons actually do very well in indiana. they tend to grow quiet quickly and bare fruit at a very young age. most of ours started fruiting at 6ft. now keeping local wildlife from eating the trees proved to be a challenge. but other than that keeping the fruit picked up off the ground before it could sprout a new tree was a priority due to 4 trees turned into a hill side of tree in no time.

Persimmons

Usually, I am very pleased with my Gurney purchases. However, I am disappointed with the persimmons. Only one of the two has put forth any growth, pretty sure the other one is dead. Also, according to information I read after I purchased the trees, persimmons do not grow in my zone (5). I was not aware of this and would not have bought these trees had I known this.
