Grafted Vegetable Plants

Grafted vegetable plants offer enhanced disease resistance, improved yields, cold tolerance and an extended harvest - so that you get the most out of your garden! Gardens Alive! brings you a wonderful range of grafted vegetables, including some of the most popular varieties of tomatoes, eggplants, peppers and other vegetable plants.

A grafted plant is created when the top part of one plant (scion) is attached to the root system of another plant (rootstock). The rootstock supplies the vigor and the disease resistance. The scion determines the fruit flavor and quality.

When planting: handle carefully as not to bend or put pressure on the graft. Make sure to plant with graft well above the soil level. Vigorous plants will require staking and remove any suckers that form below the graft.
