Roots reach down 2-4 feet, drawing moisture from the subsoil long after shallow-rooted bluegrass has dried up and gone dormant. Stays lush and green with little watering, even in summer heat.
Resists common lawn bugs!
Microorganisms called entophytes live in certain varieties of grass seed, including Turf Alive! Brand, and make the grass plants literally poison to sod webworms, cutworms, aphids and even chinch bugs! Scientists believe these entophytes produce alkaloids which are toxic to grass-eating insects.
Eliminates thatch!
Thatch buildup fosters disease and harbors insects. But the deep roots of Turf Alive! Brand grass resists the development of thatch even with heavy use of synthetic fertilizers.
